About Tam
Tam is a digital banking service by Kuwait Finance House, with its mobile banking application, and web based online banking. Services offered include banking account, debit card, prepaid card, digital payments, and loyalty program etc. Tam is committed to serve excellence for all its customers along with the concerns about privacy by taking the relevant measures to safeguard customers personal data in accordance with applicable data privacy and protection legislation.
Tam Digital Banking Service, Tam mobile app, Tam online banking, and its websites including tam.bank is owned by Kuwait Finance House (hereinafter referred to as “KFH”, “we”, “us”, “our”) an Islamic bank having its principal address at KFH Head Office . P.O. Box 24989, Safat, 13110 Kuwait.
What personal data do we collect and why?
When you use our Mobile App, we will collect and use your Personal information for different purposes, for example:
• To manage your accounts
• To transfer funds and financial transactions
• To provide our product and services
• To meet our legal and regulatory obligations
We may collect your personal information about you directly from you or we may use your phone/device to access your personal information to use certain features of your device to facilitate the user experience.
We may request to access your Phone/device with your consent, for Contacts, Location, Biometrics, Camera, Microphone, Files and Media, this access may be optional, or for certain service it may be necessary, (camera files & media – onboarding) and we will ask for your permission for each service as below.
Customer Onboarding
We will be collecting your personal data with your consent including but not limited to Mobile number, Email ID, Photo, civil ID, Passport, Nationality, and such information required to fulfil the customer onboarding process and will access your camera and/or media & files services for accessing photo, Civil ID, Passport, and other documents required to fulfil our legal obligations.
You will need to agree to have access to a phone, camera, audio & video service to collect information to fulfil your onboarding journey. You can manage how the app accesses your phone/device including making choices about your Camera, media & files using the settings on your phone.
Touch ID and Face ID
We may use your biometric information which is optional, and we will ask for your permission if you choose to enable this service.
We have no access to any of your biometric data about fingerprints or images of your face. We only know if the Touch ID or Face ID on your device has identified you successfully or not.
Your fingerprints and Images of Face ID are not stored in our App or in our database.
Merchant Offers & ATM Finder
If you choose to use certain features in the App, such as nearest merchant offer &/or ATM finder, if you use these features of the App, we need to know your location for those features to work. We will use the “Location Services” of your phone /device to fulfil your request.
You will need to agree that we will collect and use this information about your location.
You can manage how the app accesses your phone/device features or access including making choices about your location using the settings on your phone.
Send Money
The app lets you send and receive money by adding other Tam customers as friends, by mobile number or by account number. We will access your device “Phonebook/Address book/Contacts” and select and collect only Full Name and Mobile number of the recipient to fulfil your transaction request. The information collected will be used only for this transaction purpose and stored securely in our database to fulfil our legal obligations. This information collected is not shared with third parties unless otherwise required to do so by law.
By clicking a “Contact Icon” within the app, you will consent to us accessing the address book on your device from your phone/device.
This is an Internal Document and should not be shared with unauthorized users.
Third Parties
We may collect or share information about you with trusted third parties to provide services to you and to meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
